Seven Marketing Group Inc. Helps the families in Moore Oklahoma

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 12, 2013
On June 1, 2013, Seven Marketing Group Inc., a local direct sales and marketing firm in the Dallas area, held a fundraiser to help the families who lost everything in the recent tornado disaster that hit the area. They teamed up with The Gents Place Frisco and, in conjunction with each other, were able to help raise awareness to the issues at hand by reaching over 5,000 people.

The team from Seven rented a 24-foot box truck and were out all day on Saturday not allowing the rain to prevent them from accomplishing their goals. They set up camp in The Shops of Starwood so they could maximize the visibility of the truck. There were several people who came out and donated everything from food, water, and other non perishables to people bringing in clothes, toys, and even a Keurig coffee machine. The thought was 'hey, people need coffee in a time like this.'

Once all of the goods had been accepted, the President of Seven, along with his family and a few team members, drove up to Moore Oklahoma on Sunday, June 2, 2013 and were able to meet up with some voluntaries from the Baptist church in town to help off load the truck and disperse accordingly in the city.
"We have said it before and we will continue to support and help our local communities in any way that we can because without you we could never exist," President Casey Cavender said.
Please check their website and Facebook page for all of the newest up-to-date events that the team from Seven Marketing Group will be getting into.

What's in a name?

According to ask.com there are 7 people living in the United States with the name of Jeffery Dahmer. 2 in Texas,  1 in Florida, 2  in California, 1 in Idaho and 1 in Missouri.  I refuse to believe that each one of these people happen to have gone on a killing spree or that the professors at Ohio State University are teaching this in their curriculum since that is where Jeffery Dahmer went to college. With that said sometimes in life we group things together because we are always looking for the easiest things first to the more difficult things to deal with last.
As of recent we have been receiving some concerns and we just wanted to take the time to clear the air for you and state who we are as a company and an organization. We were founded in Dallas TX in January of 2012 and have only had one client which has always been AT&T. We do have a second location that we opened up this year in January 2013 in Concord CA just outside of San Francisco. We have no affiliation with a company named “Three 7 Marketing located in Philadelphia but when you perform a Google search this companies name will populate on all pages including pages that we are on. We also have no other locations currently outside of these two, so nothing in Kentucky or any other state.
We are privately owned by Casey Cavender who is the founder of the company. We have not changed our name because of the simple fact that we like it. We are more than happy to help you with any concerns that you may have. The reason that we do an interview process is to make sure that BOTH parties are actually happy with the job, requirements, pay, and benefits so don’t be surprised if you get a phone call from us and we ask something silly or crazy from you like coming in to learn more about us as we learn more about you. We want to make sure that we are helping our team mates grow to their fullest potential and it is hard to do so if you are sitting at home.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have either directly through email or via phone (972)661-0944

Doing the dishes

My Dad taught me a very simple yet very important lesson early on in life. What he said is that "If you don't find time to do something right the first time, when will you find time to do it right the second?" and in that moment I remember changing my perspective on life itself.

He did pose a very good question and in life and in business I find that this is still a problem with how most companies treat their employee's, customers, and business partners; and also with us be it that paper that the teacher gave you two weeks to write and you waited until the day before or that you haven't been to the gym since January or just can't find the right reason to quite smoking.

So what are some of the main reason why we do this or even better put off our own personal growth for something that maybe in the moment?

Growth is INTENTIONAL it does not just happen like our life. Every year we get a little older and because of that as we are kids you get a bit taller, more defined in your personal features etc, and most of us think that life will happen this same way. I have been at this job for 5 years I am the natural progression for my company to promote into this next position. FALSE! In order to do this you must ask yourself what is my growth plan. I don't mean what have you accomplished up to this point (awards, results etc) what is your plan to make sure that you are now without a doubt the best person for the job.

Here are 8 Misconceptions about growth.

1. I assume that I will automatically grow
2. I don't have the knowledge- if you are clear with what you want then the world is clear, most of us learn by the school of hard knocks meaning we have to fail to move forward. Why can't we just choose where we want to get better and educate ourselves in that area?
3. Timing- It's not the right time (The law of diminishing intent says that the longer you wait to do something the less likely you are to do it.)
4. I am afraid of making a mistake- Robert M Schuler was famous for posing the question "what would you attempt to do if you knew you couldn't fail" I am here to tell you that the price of admission to grow is that you or someone around you will have to fail. You should learn to welcome mistakes because it means that you have the opportunity to learn.
5. The Perfectionist- You have to find the best possible way to do something before you start it. The problem with that is just like being on a dark road until you start to move forward you can never see the best possible path to take. So at the end of the day just start.
6. Inspiration or lack there of-I just don't feel like doing it right now, here to tell you that motivation is not going to strike you like lightening and the idea of motivation is a trap. How so? Well if you want love and happiness you don't get that until you try a relationship it doesn't just happen to you.
7. Comparison- Others are better at it than I am. You have to have three types of people in your life for you to grow, you have to have someone older and more successful than you so you can learn, an equal for you to bounce ideas off of, and someone under you so you can have someone to teach and gain energy from.
8.  Expectations- I thought it was going to be easier than that. I don't know one successful person who thinks that growth comes quickly or that getting to the top was easy. It was not luck there is no such thing only people who are prepared to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented in front of them will create their own luck. The equation is easy Preparation+Attitude+Opportunity+ACTION=luck.

Take the time to do your dishes every day instead of waiting until Saturday afternoon and it will only take you 3-5 min a day vs 45 min on a day where the last thing you want to do is wash dirty crusted things off your plates!

The devil is in the details.

Several of us have heard this expression at some point in our life, but what does it really mean? If you take it literal well then I guess it was meant to put the fear of God into you to control you, but for the rest of us it means that if you do not take care of the little things in life then the big things will seem bigger and harder to get accomplished. The example that I always received was doing the dishes on a daily basis only takes you about 5 minutes depending on the size of your family of course versus doing them only on the weekend and allowing the kitchen to become a complete mess. In the mean time you would have spent 45 minutes doing it on a Saturday if you allowed them to stack up. (Thanks Mom for the lesson)

In today's world we have several options to choose from in all aspects of our life, from places to eat, drink, shop etc. and many of us think in the same ways. Which is; what is the cost of the product, what is the quality of it, and how does it make me feel. Of course many of us are price concious first and then we start to look at the other factors, but is this necessarly the best way?

Recently we opened a new office location out in Concord California and we had to send a few of our Dallas team members to help with the opening of the new location, and the options for travel these days are vast. If you hop onto any of the locators to help you find travel you will find several options ranging from cheep to far more expensive, but if a plane only gets you from point A to point B then they should all be the same right? If so then why the vast difference in price. Let me tell you it is the attention to detail that makes for the higher price.

We had heard several wonderful things about flying Virgin America but have never taken the air line before and the price point was about $75 higher than the next closest competitor, but here is what that extra $75 provides to you the consumer.

The terminals are the nicest, cleanest, most advanced that I have ever been into in both DFW or SFO airports. They have both a yoga and a meditation room because travel is already stressful enough and they want you to be able to relax if needed. Outside of that all of the employee's are very young hipster type and when you enter the plane instead of your generic arrival into the plane there is soft house/lounge music playing and the first thing you notice is that the feel and look of the plane is very different than that of the competition by being very sleek and modern. The recess lighting is all purples, reds, blues instead of your typical dingy yellowish lighting. All of the chairs are over sized (if your over 6' tall you will really appreciate this) every seat is leather and all have a touch screen monitor in the back of the head rest in front of you. On this screen you are able to listen to music, rent a new movie, watch live TV play video games, surf the net, and even going shopping on line. All of your drinks and food orders can be placed from here as well. For those of us who choose to bring our own devices (laptop, phone etc) the troublesome aspect is that your device runs a lot of battery life, well they have you covered there too. Every seat has both a three prong plug and a usb power source attached to you armrest! What an idea...So Virgin America we are your new ambassador for your airline. Now if you could just start flying more domestic flights that would be greatly appreciated!

Silent Acution for Operation Smile

The Holidays are a time when most of are in the mood to help and give, but it is also a time to spend with friends and family and reflect back on the year of what was accomplished, and what the next year will bring to us.

I have found that in life most of us know how to find the most basic human necessities such as a job, love, friends, shelter etc but many of us struggle in finding fulfillment. It is the one aspect of our lives that we can not pretend to be selfish with and to find true fulfillment it requires us to do something for someone else that will help them out and give us nothing back in return for it. Over the past few months the team here at Seven Marketing Group has been working on a silent auction for Operation Smile. If you have never heard of Operation Smile here is a bit about who they are and what they stand for.

Operation Smile is an international children's medical charity that heals children's smiles, forever changing their lives.
As an international charity for children, we measure ourselves by the joy we see on all of the faces we help. At Operation Smile, we're more than a charity. More than an NGO. We're a mobilized force of medical professionals and caring hearts who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.
That's where we come in as one of the top charities providing much needed surgical services. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided more than 3.5 million comprehensive patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.

During the course of the silent auction we were able to spread the word of who this amazing organization is and what they do along with having a ton of fun and raising over $1000 to donate towards the cause. Our goal this year is to help raise a total of $3500 which would sponsor 14 surgeries this year to young children who need our help. Please help us be a community leader and spread the word of this organization so that we may protect both our future and theirs. Also stay in touch with us to see the upcoming events that we will be holding to help raise more awareness!

Adjustments in life

Recently we had to deal with the time change in all of our lives and for some people adjustments in life regardless of how big or how small the adjustment may be it can be difficult. We are all creatures of habit and we all like for things to be the "same routine" or "balanced life" where we sleep for 8 hours a day, work for 8 hours a day, and play for 8 hours a day. However if I were to give you the possibility of sleeping for 8 hours a day and playing for 16 because nothing else mattered I am confident that many of us would take that option.

There are some basics to being able to deal with adjustments or change in our life and it's up to us to make it as smooth a transition as possible.

The first is that we have to be physically and mentally healthy. This can be anything from going to the gym a few times a week, to eating better, or having a few less cokes or energy drinks that we all love. When the body is physically happy it will produce endorphins that essentially make you feel better stronger and more confident in life. Secondary to that is that we have to have strong mental health. Our personal life has to be in order be it a relationship with a spouse, friend, or family member. If any of these areas are in disarray then we will be distracted with it and it will make any adjustments that much harder. Finally the last piece of the puzzle is to have something comfortable with you at all times so that you can always have that feeling of something that you know.

last week I traveled to Los Angles to further my education with some business seminars and choose to catch the red eye flight at 1am Saturday night so that I could be back with my family on Sunday. On top of having to fly west to east and deal with the 2 hour difference in time I also had to account for the day light savings time and what helped me through it all was the above 3 points and yes I took my own pillow for all of my comfort.
