Several of us have heard this expression at some point in our life, but what does it really mean? If you take it literal well then I guess it was meant to put the fear of God into you to control you, but for the rest of us it means that if you do not take care of the little things in life then the big things will seem bigger and harder to get accomplished. The example that I always received was doing the dishes on a daily basis only takes you about 5 minutes depending on the size of your family of course versus doing them only on the weekend and allowing the kitchen to become a complete mess. In the mean time you would have spent 45 minutes doing it on a Saturday if you allowed them to stack up. (Thanks Mom for the lesson)
In today's world we have several options to choose from in all aspects of our life, from places to eat, drink, shop etc. and many of us think in the same ways. Which is; what is the cost of the product, what is the quality of it, and how does it make me feel. Of course many of us are price concious first and then we start to look at the other factors, but is this necessarly the best way?
Recently we opened a new office location out in Concord California and we had to send a few of our Dallas team members to help with the opening of the new location, and the options for travel these days are vast. If you hop onto any of the locators to help you find travel you will find several options ranging from cheep to far more expensive, but if a plane only gets you from point A to point B then they should all be the same right? If so then why the vast difference in price. Let me tell you it is the attention to detail that makes for the higher price.
We had heard several wonderful things about flying Virgin America but have never taken the air line before and the price point was about $75 higher than the next closest competitor, but here is what that extra $75 provides to you the consumer.
The terminals are the nicest, cleanest, most advanced that I have ever been into in both DFW or SFO airports. They have both a yoga and a meditation room because travel is already stressful enough and they want you to be able to relax if needed. Outside of that all of the employee's are very young hipster type and when you enter the plane instead of your generic arrival into the plane there is soft house/lounge music playing and the first thing you notice is that the feel and look of the plane is very different than that of the competition by being very sleek and modern. The recess lighting is all purples, reds, blues instead of your typical dingy yellowish lighting. All of the chairs are over sized (if your over 6' tall you will really appreciate this) every seat is leather and all have a touch screen monitor in the back of the head rest in front of you. On this screen you are able to listen to music, rent a new movie, watch live TV play video games, surf the net, and even going shopping on line. All of your drinks and food orders can be placed from here as well. For those of us who choose to bring our own devices (laptop, phone etc) the troublesome aspect is that your device runs a lot of battery life, well they have you covered there too. Every seat has both a three prong plug and a usb power source attached to you armrest! What an idea...So Virgin America we are your new ambassador for your airline. Now if you could just start flying more domestic flights that would be greatly appreciated!

Silent Acution for Operation Smile
The Holidays are a time when most of are in the mood to help and give, but it is also a time to spend with friends and family and reflect back on the year of what was accomplished, and what the next year will bring to us.
I have found that in life most of us know how to find the most basic human necessities such as a job, love, friends, shelter etc but many of us struggle in finding fulfillment. It is the one aspect of our lives that we can not pretend to be selfish with and to find true fulfillment it requires us to do something for someone else that will help them out and give us nothing back in return for it. Over the past few months the team here at Seven Marketing Group has been working on a silent auction for Operation Smile. If you have never heard of Operation Smile here is a bit about who they are and what they stand for.
Operation Smile is an international children's medical charity that heals children's smiles, forever changing their lives.
As an international charity for children, we measure ourselves by the joy we see on all of the faces we help. At Operation Smile, we're more than a charity. More than an NGO. We're a mobilized force of medical professionals and caring hearts who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.
Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft — often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a normal life.
That's where we come in as one of the top charities providing much needed surgical services. Since 1982, Operation Smile — through the help of dedicated medical volunteers — has provided more than 3.5 million comprehensive patient evaluations and over 200,000 free surgeries for children and young adults born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
During the course of the silent auction we were able to spread the word of who this amazing organization is and what they do along with having a ton of fun and raising over $1000 to donate towards the cause. Our goal this year is to help raise a total of $3500 which would sponsor 14 surgeries this year to young children who need our help. Please help us be a community leader and spread the word of this organization so that we may protect both our future and theirs. Also stay in touch with us to see the upcoming events that we will be holding to help raise more awareness!
